Advisors – February 2026

As we close out another Medicare Annual Enrollment Period, I want to thank the many financial advisors, CPAs and retirement professionals who collaborated with me to support their clients this season.

My Medicare practice experienced over 13% growth in new clients during AEP — with the majority of new relationships coming from referrals. For those already referring clients, I sincerely appreciate your continued trust.

And for those receiving this newsletter who we haven’t yet had the opportunity to work with — I hope you’ll find value in the insights shared here and consider me a resource for your clients navigating Medicare decisions.

My role is simple: to complement the planning work you’ve done by helping clients make informed healthcare coverage choices that align with their broader financial strategy.

This Month’s Highlights

📅 Key Date Reminder

Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period Ends March 31

The Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period runs through March 31. This allows clients currently enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan to make one plan change if coverage is not meeting expectations.

This is particularly relevant this year following significant Medicare Advantage plan terminations and market exits, which forced many beneficiaries into new plans for 2026.

If your clients:
* Lost their prior plan
* Were mapped into a new carrier
* Are experiencing provider disruption
* Have unexpected out-of-pocket exposure

There is still time to reassess before the March 31 deadline. I’m happy to review options and coordinate with your planning strategy.

✈️ Planning Consideration: International Travel Coverage

As more retirees resume international travel, healthcare coverage abroad continues to be an overlooked exposure. Medicare insurance plans provide limited emergency-only international coverage, often with caps and reimbursement restrictions.

Travel medical insurance remains an affordable solution to mitigate risk. Two carriers recently evaluated by clients include:

* Allianz Travel Insurance
* Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Solutions

Encouraging clients to evaluate travel coverage — particularly for extended trips — is a prudent risk management step within retirement planning.

🔑 Jenell’s Key Advisor Tip

A planning gap we often uncover involves Medicare communication authority.Without written authorization, Medicare will not disclose a client’s personal health or coverage information to spouses, family members, or advisors.

Authorization to Disclose Personal Health Information Release Form
Your clients can complete this form which allows a designated representative to:
* Speak with Medicare on the client’s behalf
* Address claims or billing issues
* Assist with enrollment or coverage questions
* Click here for the form

Encouraging clients to complete this form proactively supports continuity of care and administrative advocacy — particularly during health events.
🤝 Partnership Invitation

Whether we’ve worked together for years or have yet to collaborate, I welcome the opportunity to support your clients’ Medicare planning needs.

The growth of my practice is supported by advisor relationships and introductions. It’s a model rooted in trust, communication, and protecting the client experience you’ve worked hard to build. If you have clients who are:

* Turning 65
* Retiring or leaving employer coverage
* Reviewing Medicare costs within their income plan
* Navigating Medicare plan disruptions

I’m always happy to step in as a resource.

I value the opportunity to serve as a Medicare resource for you and your clients, and consider it a privilege to collaborate with professionals who place such a high priority on client outcomes.
